Through a combination of exceptional products and superior service, MTI is in the business of providing landscape beautification solutions to golf courses, schools, municipalities, landscape contractors, and independent dealers.

We currently have an opening for an Irrigation Sales Technician based out of our Grimes, Iowa location.  In this position, you will work directly with golf course customers to find appropriate solutions to irrigation problems, recommending irrigation upgrade products and or services which may include delivering and installing the necessary equipment on-site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop additional revenue over the life of a golf course irrigation system through regular system maintenance practices, diagnose and repair systems, and provide upgrade recommendations.
  • Install new or demo product.
  • Instruct end users as to use, safety, features, and benefits of the overall operation of equipment.
  • Be onsite with golf course irrigation customers daily through the irrigation season to help customers find solutions to irrigation issues and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Schedule customer appointments to troubleshoot new or existing irrigation equipment.
  • Utilize Salesforce to maintain and update customer information based on activities and interactions as they occur.
  • Keep current on the latest golf irrigation products and technology.
  • Assist with customer training at customer’s location or in a classroom setting.
  • Assist with winterization service to golf courses and municipalities.
  • Maintain vehicle: routine maintenance, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Occasional overnight travel.
  • Work is exclusively away from the office.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of related industry experience and/or sales experience preferred.
  • A self-starter, driven, with strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to manage workload and excel at prioritizing and organizing tasks.
  • Valid/clean driver’s license
  • Ability to navigate around local and surrounding states.
  • Individual must possess strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, both written and verbal. 

Annual salary $70,000 - $85,000; based upon the qualifications of the selected candidate.  Our benefit program includes:  401(k), medical, dental, vision disability and life insurance, PTO and holiday pay.  Candidates will be subject to pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.
