We currently have an opening for a Staff Accountant in our Brooklyn Center, Minnesota location.  This position supports month end activities such as general ledger close, reconciliations, monthly/quarterly reporting, fixed assets, and margin tracking and reporting.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with month-end close. Prepare and enter assigned journal entries, preparation of the trial balance and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Review and maintain inventory accounts and ensure the general and subsidiary ledgers are in balance.
  • Manage the company fixed assets listing and depreciation schedule and physical inventory.
  • Manage all general ledger cash accounts, including headquarters and remote store locations. Monthly bank reconciliations, credit card processing, cash transfers, etc.
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Enter and maintain warranty credits and backup.
  • Manage the filing of irrigation rebates, following up on unpaid rebates and processing of rebate credits.
  • Distribute monthly department financial statements and complete the monthly expense analysis.
  • Prepare sales report for commission payments to sales staff.  Reconcile sales report to the General Ledger.
  • Perform other general accounting work and reporting as assigned
  • Continuously evaluate processes and look for ways to update, streamline and improve them

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or similar field with one to three years of experience in accounting or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to ask for help/clarification when needed
  • Effective time management skills, with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Exhibit sound judgment and troubleshooting skills
  • Collaborative team player having the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment, within the company’s people and performance values culture
  • Ability to become proficient with our ERP platform, Infor Cloudsuite Distribution
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Corporate office environment.  The employee will routinely operate typical business office equipment, including computer hardware.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Salary $65,000 - $80,000 annually, based upon the qualifications of the selected candidate.  Our benefit program includes:  401(k), medical, dental, vision disability and life insurance, PTO and holiday pay.
